Joining Our Family, Fees & Logistics

Opening Hours: Monday – Friday 8am – 6pm. We are open 48 weeks a year. Find out more about changes to our hours here.
We provide short and long days:
Short day: 9.30am – 3.30pm
Long day: 8.00am – 6.00pm

We welcome children from age 2 to 5 years old.

One week settling in but parents can stay longer if the child isn’t ready. We also invite them to come and spend time with us before the official settling in week.

We offer 15 funded hours a week to all 3 and 4 year olds and 30 hours to 2, 3 and 4 years old eligible children. There are free places available for two year olds from low-income households. Please email us grasshoppersinfo@gmail.com to discuss this.
A discount rate is offered to siblings attending the nursery during the same period.

We require two months written notice.
Our Team & Looking after your child

Maximum 20 children. At Grasshoppers, children don’t learn in rigid age groups—they thrive on learning, playing, and growing together.

3 adults with 10/14 children - 5 adults with 15/20 children.

We have a strict door policy with locked gate and buzzer system. Regular health and safety checks and daily risk assessments.

Our dedicated have a wealth or experience, many have been with us for over a decade.
We have two fully trained early years teachers and three at NVQ Level 3.
Every member of staff is a qualified First Aider and has an enhanced DBS check.
How We Learn, Play & Grow

EYFS and we are particularly inspired by the work of Maria Montessori and the Reggio Emilia approach.

You can read about our daily routine here. Our daily walk to the park sets our nursery apart from others. We strongly believe that they represent an educational opportunity and that the outdoors hold all that is valuable and important to growing and learning children.

Healthy Bodies & Staying Well

We are very experienced in dealing with children’s eating habits, intolerances and managing allergies.
Our dedicated in-house Chef Nives has notes on childrens allergies and we display them for staff on our noticeboard too.

Our trained nutritionist Nives lovingly plans and cooks all the children’s meals in our kitchen on site. Read more here.

Everyday Care & Staying Connected

Yes. Our team works closely with parents and carers to understand individual requirements, implement necessary adjustments, and ensure every child is fully supported.
Please contact us directly to discuss your child's specific needs and how we can best support them.
We have two Level 3 SENCOSs, one support worker who works exclusively with SEND children. Our SEND children are taught alongside all the children - we do not seperate them.

We talk regularly, parents are welcome to come and chat to us any time. We provide more formal written progress reviews at least twice a year.
Emails to parents include weekly summaries with photos and descriptions of activities sent our every Friday. We are very proud of our parent community.

Needless to say we are very experienced with this subject!
We discuss with parents what is working for them and try to mirror what is happening at home. We can accomadate children that wear cloth nappies.

You will receive a Welcome Pack before children join the Nursery with all information.
